Wiggle Worm must do his homework, but he's panicking. Can he complete the assignment before tomorrow? In Wiggle Worm's Shape Adventures by Karen Sills and Kathy Sills, Wiggle Worm’s assignment is to locate six different shapes. This beautifully illustrated children’s book is about persistence, friendship and teamwork. In this book, children will learn that things they seek may be closer than they think. As Wiggle Worm embarks on the journey to locate the shapes, he meets several friends. Looking for shapes is a lot of work and, at times, can be extremely sad. It appears that someone is looking out for him because each time he searches for a shape, he encounters a friend that helps. It is fun for children as they read about the encounters that Wiggle Worm has with Black Crow, Tiny Ant, Chester Squirrel, Flounder Fish, Shaggy Dog and his Mom. Children will not only learn about building character, but they will also learn about the fundamentals of basic math, addition and subtraction. This book is not only entertaining for children, but educational.
Love it, love it. This story was so engaging and the colors just resonated and jumped off the pages. This simple picture book is ideal for children in so many ways. Children will learn so much from reading this book, from taking action even when a task appears to be difficult, teaching about the different aspects of identifying shapes and sizes, and learning how to count to team building - all you have to do is be transparent and ask, don't try to do it alone. Children learn best during their formative years which helps to stimulate their cognitive skills. By getting a copy of this book, the easy steps that they will learn will be priceless.

Wiggle Worm's Shape Adventure by Karen and Kathy Sills is an educational book for small children which will introduce them to the concept of shapes. Wiggle Worm has an assignment on shapes to do for school. He still has not completed it and he has no idea how to find each shape. Wiggle Worm is feeling really sad because he can't go to school with his incomplete assignment. Then his friends arrive and they help him with his work. Join Chester Squirrel, Flounder Fish, Black Crow, Tiny Ant, Shaggy Dog, and Mamma Worm as they help Wiggle Worm put together the six shapes and at the same time introduce young readers to new shapes.
A story with an interactive theme and educational concept, Wiggle Worm's Shape Adventure will worm its way into the hearts of readers. The authors have written a beautiful story that will teach children not only about shapes but also about animals and counting. It is a book I would recommend for school libraries and personal collections as it can be used for reading sessions in classrooms and libraries. It also makes a good bedtime story book.
The illustrations also contribute to the effectiveness of the theme. The bright and cheerful pictures give even more clarity to the concept and are essential to hold kids' attention. It is a fun book, filled with lots of animals, colors, shapes, and numbers put together aesthetically. An endearing story with a good educational theme and interactive concept.
